One of my (many) favorite lines from Thomas Paine's Age of Reason is when he says it appears to have been the work of a demon:

Whenever we read the obscene stories the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness with which more than half the bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we call it the word of a demon rather than the word of god. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my part, I sincerely detest it as I detest everything that is cruel.

Consider further, then, if it really is a demon and Ray is serving a great deceiver, then most likely those who wrote the Bible also were as well. I read a blog post this week concerning the morals defined in the Old Testament. I think it goes to the whole notion, as they are defining such morals to keep them within the religion.

Just a note on garret's comment: Have you ever seen Stargate SG-1 and the Ori? When pondering Satan, you are not to think that he has the power to create creatures- why? Because this creates the insoluable dilema that Satan could have then created a false resurrected Christ, who would masquerade and decieve people into believing that it was Gods plan when it was not. In otherwords, Satan would create a false Christ who would perform miracles, before the time of the anti-Christ (which is biblical, via gods plan), which is gods timing, not Satans. Does that make sense? Well, it is supposed to.

The gnostics used to teach that the God of the Jews was evil- but Christ was good.

Take care publius, nice blog!Garret Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12270243322391761689noreply@blogger.com
